Summary This position is located in the United States Mint, Financial Department, Accounting Division, Financial Management Branch. The Accounting Division performs many standard accounting tasks, such as tracking expenses and providing financial results for our various products. Duties As a Supervisory Accountant, you will: Supervise the day-to-day processes of the assigned Branch. Maintain cost accounts and prepare regular and special reports as required to meet the needs of the United States Mint. Analyze data provided by the Mint-wide cost accounting system; analyze and report cost data submitted by Corporate, Strategic Business Units, and field offices. Provide data to the Financial Planning Division for annual budget submissions and provide cost analyses to management for the purpose of measuring operations, improving processes, planning operations, and controlling costs. Perform accurate recording and reporting of capital assets. This includes establishing start date for depreciable assets and determining expected useful life of asset. Provide an independent internal audit for weapon inventory in the Protection Department. Perform financial revenue accounting for Mint numismatic programs, including recording, reporting, and reconciling all monetary receipts deposits and statistics involving numismatic programs.
