Provides support to the Sales Department and Customer Services by coordinating the activities and communications in an effort to increase sales from new and existing customers, and improve customer communication and satisfaction. Manages all aspects of project outsourcing by working with external suppliers and internal departments. The job involves approximately 50% Customer Service and 50% Supply Chain Outsourcing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Communicates effectively with assigned customers and internal associates regarding casting due dates, production status and potential delays. Gather information for quotations and enter relevant information into M2M - such as specifications, prints, EAUs and models. Inputs RFQs and Purchase Orders into M2M for both Customers and Outside Service Suppliers. Input quotes into the HS intranet for dispersal to the Production and Management teams for review. Present quotations to end customer. Handles customer inquiries about Harrison Steel and our capabilities and distributes pertinent information to the appropriate individuals. Researches and onboards potential Suppliers for services such as machining or painting as directed by upper management. Maintains Supplier purchase orders and develops shipments to the supplier in coordination with production and the VP of Operations. Communicates due dates, schedules and needs to Suppliers. Lead plant tours as necessary for Suppliers and Customers, coordinates on-site visits for both as necessary. Work closely with Production, Finance, Sales, Purchasing, the Shipping Coordinator, the Advanced Product Quality Planning team, and Customer Service as well as outside sources to maximize the pipeline of strategic sourcing. Performs supply chain and logistics functions, which may include, but are not limited to, material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution. Manage and assist in planning and preparation of all project outsourcing, closely monitor quality, and collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers to: Initiate and manage outsourcing quotes, manage purchase orders, and coordinate timelines, schedules, delivery, and logistics for outsourced operations Act as an intermediary between Harrison Steel operations and suppliers for all issues including Production Part Approval Process, nonconforming product, and rejections Facilitate meetings, print distribution and sharing, specifications, and technical support Track all offsite inventory Manage inventory, ordering, scheduling, tracking, and customer invoices of fabrication and assembly parts Manage performance of associated suppliers in terms of delivery, quality, and timeliness of addressing any issues, including any required supplier corrective action requests Identify cost savings, cost avoidance, risk reduction, and enhanced business outcomes. Maintain and promote sound relationships with internal departments, external suppliers, stakeholders, and the business community. Travels to potential and current suppliers and customers, as needed. Minimum of an Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from an accredited college or university highly preferred. At least one year of current, relevant work- related experience preferred. Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required. Language Ability: Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, to employees of Harrison Steel, its current or potential customers, as well as other constituents. Able to effectively and clearly write routine reports and correspondence. Able to read and interpret a variety of instructions delivered in written, verbal, diagram, or other manufacturing industry formats. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Prefer knowledge of management accounting, process mapping and other operations knowledge. Prefer knowledge of statistics and statistical concepts. Must have experience with mathematical and financial concepts including geometry, accounting, statistical measures, technical drawings, and manufacturing, with an analytical background. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced working knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint. Some Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) experience is preferred. Certificates and Licenses: No certifications needed Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
