Position Description: This position is primarily responsible for performing manual labor related to the maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, drainage facilities, and grounds maintenance activities, including mowing and edging. Additional duties include seasonal work such as snow removal and the preparation and cleanup of streets for special events.The employee must be able to work daily without supervision and make reasonable judgments and decisions when necessary. The position requires some work during nights, weekends, and holidays. Skills and Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's License Ability to obtain a CDL Successfully pass a criminal history, background check, and drug screen This position will remain open until filled with the first review of applications on February 13, 2023.The Town of Abingdon offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, paid annual leave, paid holidays, and Virginia State Retirement to Full-Time employees.The Town of Abingdon is an equal opportunity employer.
